The Temploux aerodrome is located only 7 kilometres from the heart of Namur, in the very centre of the Walloon Region. It offers visitors several modern seminar rooms as well as a friendly bar, ideal for enjoying a moment of relaxation with a drink or a snack before or after your flight. It is a perfect place for a family outing, offering a wide range of aeronautical activities to discover and enjoy.

A bit of history of the Namur aerodrome

Did you know that the first flight of a modern hot air balloon in Belgium took place from the Temploux aerodrome on 13 September 1969? This rich history highlights the importance of the aerodrome in the Belgian aviation landscape.

HOW TO GET THERE?

By motorway from Brussels:

  • Take the E411/A4 motorway towards Namur, then follow signs for E42 Mons, Charleroi.
  • Near Namur, take exit 12 Namur, Gembloux.
  • Take the N4 towards Suarlée.
  • After 100 m, turn right onto Rue de Zualart towards Suarlée.
  • When you enter Suarlée, continue for approximately 100 m and turn left onto Rue Roger Carlier.
  • About 200 m further on, turn right onto Rue d’Ortey. After 300 m, turn right onto Rue du Capitaine Aviateur Jacquet.

    • The meeting point is usually in the paratroopers' parking lot. Takeoffs normally take place from the parachutists' lawn.

The Brasserie de l’Aérodrome (highly recommended by our team) is at your disposal, an original & exclusive place with a very unique aviation-style decoration. A large terrace welcomes you with a playground, a pétanque court and a sandbox for the great enjoyment of both children and adults. The brasserie offers an indoor space, a veranda, and an uncovered outdoor terrace.

Practical info:

We strongly advise you to plan your return to the ground after your hot air balloon experience. Your friends and family can follow our 4x4 vehicle, which remains in contact with the balloon throughout the flight. This way, they can pick you up at the landing site, which is usually about 15 km from the launch site and is not known in advance.

Transport solutions for your comfort

If you truly have no transport option, don’t worry! For flights in the Namur region, we can bring your driver (the person driving your vehicle) back to the launch site after the flight. We do everything we can to ensure your experience is pleasant and worry-free.
