Spa-La Sauvenière Aerodrome

The Spa/La Sauvenière aerodrome is located near the charming town of Spa and the famous Spa-Francorchamps Formula 1 circuit. Its location, just a short distance from the E42 motorway, makes the site easily accessible from any direction, offering optimal connectivity with the region’s main roads.

Nestled just a few steps from the Fagne de Malchamps, a natural treasure of Wallonia, the aerodrome overlooks a landscape of great biological richness. The Fagne, a true haven of biodiversity, is home to exceptional flora and fauna and is considered one of the major sites of Walloon natural heritage. This vast marshland, extending over more than 350 hectares in the heart of the High Ardennes, is a preferred habitat for deer, does, and wild boar, which roam in an extraordinary environment. The site is also known for its unique geology, particularly its lithalses, remnants of ancient periglacial formations.

Flying over this region, you can observe wet and dry heathlands, raised bogs, and acidic marshes, which host a wide variety of plant life, from sphagnum mosses to quaternary heathers. A true paradise for nature lovers and untouched landscapes.

The Fagne de Malchamps can be explored from the Berinzenne Forest Museum, located not far from the aerodrome, offering visitors the opportunity to discover this fascinating environment from different perspectives. As for the aerodrome itself, it is the ideal starting point to observe this region from a unique angle.

The Spa aerodrome is well known for the parachute jumps organized by our partner company Skydivespa.

On the E42, coming from the north, do not take exit no. 9 – Spa exit – but take the next exit no. 10 – “FRANCORCHAMPS” exit. From there, the route is signposted towards the Spa-La Sauvenière Aerodrome. At the motorway exit, turn right towards Francorchamps, then at the bottom of the hill, turn right again to go back up towards Spa.

After the summit, on the descent about 700 m further, you cannot miss the aerodrome. Free parking is available. Two bars are also accessible: the “Sunset” and the parachutists’ bar. The meeting point is at the reception of our friends and partners at the Spa parachuting center Skydivespa.

Do not forget: good shoes for walking in fields, a cap for the heat of the burner, and to arrange your return transport.
